This page is intended to help new AERC members get started in the sport of endurance - whether you are a new rider or an experienced rider and new to endurance.

If you have any questions about endurance or limited distance riding, feel free to call the 
AERC office – the toll-free number is 866-271-2372. The office staff will be happy to assist you. A wide variety of information is available at our website www.aerc.org

Among the first things you may want to read are the links where information on conditioning, electrolytes, and what a ride is like is discussed.

Mentoring - How to find someone to ask questions of and perhaps ride with for your first AERC ride.

Online calendar - an online ride calendar with location and contact information.  You can find rides in your state or region.  Put in a past date to see rides held near you that you may want to attend next year.  Read how to use it by clicking on the "Tips on how to best use the custom calendar" at the bottom of the page.  You can download entries from the calendar.

Tips for your first ride

How to find AERC members in your area to ride with or answer questions.  You can look up members by city, state, and zipcode from the members directory at your members page.  To login to your members page - click on the "Activate your AERC online members page" at http://www.doublejoy.com/aerc/mbr/      Use your email as the Login ID and chose a password.  Once you have logged in - click on  Services - then member directory.  Don't hesitate to call or email members in your area to see if they will ride with you or suggest someone who might.

Another good resource for help is your regional AERC Directors.  You can find a listing of them with contact information at the AERC home page.

For your first endurance ride - plan to ride with an experienced rider.  Either go with one from your area or explain to the ride manager that it's your first ride and ask to be introduced to an experienced rider so that you can ride with them.

Consider volunteering at several rides near you to learn more about endurance.  Use the above
